Montreal Sports
Noted for being a Hockey obsessed city, Montreal is generally a city that likes its sports with a passion; Football, Baseball, and Soccer, are also popular in town. Sports teams representing the city are the Montreal Canadians (Hockey), the Alouettes (Football), and the Montreal Impact (Soccer). The city has hosted such events as the World Aquatic Championship and the 76 Olympics, out of which the Montreal Olympic Stadium was built.
Probably one of the most unique stadiums you’ll ever see, the Olympic Stadium was supposed to be a crowning architectural achievement but was marred by problems in its construction; nonetheless it is an interesting site to behold and has a great history of hosting major entertainment and sporting events, such as setting the record for soccer game attendance in Canada during the 76 Olympics.
Montreal is quite well known for its races such as the Montreal Grand Prix held annually and the Molson Indy. These events tend to be huge in Montreal, kicking off many parties in and around the city; you’ll also find major clubbing districts closed to traffic during these events.
