While this might seem like a dumb question not everyone know what the term open bar means.

Open bar : the term used when drinks are served free of charge at a social function. FREE BOOZE!

In Montreal all the best parties/celebrations are open bar. However not all open bar's are created equal. Often people will place restrictions on the time, type of alchol, and number of bartenders. Make sure whatever party you choose that the open bar is all night (typically 9pm-3am), and there are more than 3 bartenders. Also all the best open bar parties are cost upwards of $90 and ticket prices go up closer to the date and sell out fast. The same $90 ticket in Sept/Oct will sell for $125+ come Dec if not already sold out. SO BUY EARLY!
